25 miles, 2:52min on Boston marathon course
130 miles
This week was sort of a missed opportunity to run fast. Although, I am putting my full attention towards training for the marathon, I feel like I could have "squeezed in" another PR on the track. I was looking to running something in the low 8min range. Unfortunately, the seeded heat was very crowded causing a lot of confusion for the first 1400m which resulted in slow pacing and a lot of running in lane 2. I I got kind of impatient and made a move from last to third in just one lap (at around 2:50 into the video above). That move cost me a lot because it was a a 31.5 from lane 2-3. I am satisfied with my effort but looking forward to running faster times in the future once I get back to the track.
Now back to marathon stuff. I'm halfway through, but the specific training starts this upcoming week. I think I finally have the wheels under me to allow MP to feel much easier. Now I need to get mentally tough in handling long tempos and longer intervals that I've never done before. Stay tuned because the next couple of weeks are going to be exciting!
