Week 37

A lot of good things came out from this week for sure. First, the 4xmile workout, which has become a staple workout to test my fitness for the 5k, gave me a big boost of confidence I needed after my DNF a few weeks ago.. Last year, I ran this exact same workout and averaged 4:32, which ended up being the same pace I averaged for the race 9 days later. This past Tuesday I averaged 4:28 which is a big improvement. Week 35, Dartmouth Relays 3k - DNF

Averaged 2:45 for the 1ks, which is 4 seconds faster than I averaged last year at this same time. I was not able to finish the 3k at Dartmouth partly because I had chest problems and terrible race strategies. Running in and out of the cold weather is definitely starting to hit me, but I hope I can keep the sickness away (if any) and be ready for my next race on Jan 30. Kind of a disappoint

This week concluded a strong 7-week of a mini base. Mileagewise I went 80-93-96-96-99-100-104, for long runs I went 16-16-17-17-18-18-18 and for my 12 mile progression runs, I improved the last 3 miles from 15:30 to 15:06 and now 14:46 this week. Not so sure where my speed is since I haven't done much, but I'm sure the strength should be able to carry me through these first few races. Hopefully the drills, hurdles and core
