This week I had a good chance to run a fast 5k out in California, but fell short with a 14:05.39. I felt great going into the race and really thought if everything clicked I'd be able to run 13:40's. I won't bore you with excuses and reasonings, but I still think I can run in the 13:40's if I get another chance at it. However, with championships meets coming up and lack of meets on the East coast, it most likely won't happen this year. This means, no PR for the outdoor season, no qualifying mark for the US Championships and my dreams of getting into a good post-collegiate running team probably have slimmed even more. Very disappointed at myself to say the least, but I hope this will get me fired up for training in the next few weeks.
