This week I had 2 races in Ireland, a 5k road in the city of Armagh and a 6k xc in Drogheda. I was very happy with how I performed in both race. I felt that I was in good rhythm throughout the races, except for the xc race downhill part which I slipped too much. The road race was an 18 second PR on my 5k from Providence back in September. Overall, this is great progress in the right direction. The next 6 weeks, I will be able to get in a good training block before the Mt.SAC 5k. The weather in Lowell is very nice (high 30's, low 40's) allowing better training. The picture below was taken after the 5k race. Team USA was 2nd to England (16-18) and won the 6k over Poland (15-15) after the 4th guy tie breaker. From left to right, Ben Bruce, Luke Mayer, myself and Nick Polk.
Ruben, keep up the good work. Very inspiring.
