Today I placed 2nd at the USATF-NEw England 10k at Franklin Park, Boston. I thought I had a good chance to win, but Lucas Meyer of BAA (former OTC runner) dusted me in the last mile. Right after the start, he took the lead at the first turn and I knew immediately he was the man to beat. No one else wanted to go with him, so I went right after. We pretty much ran all together the entire race stride for stride. I tried to test him at the hills, but he was strong and never let go. After 8k, he put on a good move and I just couldn't match it. Overall, I'm pleased with the race considering I ran about 20 seconds faster than last year with similar conditions.

Now with the season over, I am going to get a little rest to recover mentally and physically. Sometimes, the highs can be too much and I don't like that. I like to run every race like I am an underdog - never satisfied and always hungry for some more. I am hoping good things will come gradually in the next few months. Just got to stay patient and consistent.

  1. As a spectator (I ran the old guys race) it was great watching you two duke it out for 5 miles - what XC is all about. Thanks!
